ASUS responded -- again -- to our coverage. The last time they did this was the same day last year, but for motherboards. This time, ASUS has responded about its warranty process in general. Unfortunately, the company has, we think, misrepresented the timeline and accused its customers of being "confused" in a tonedeaf response. Rather than just post the improvement plan, the company had to take shots at its own customers in the...

ASUS already lost me as a customer, since every laptop I've bought of theirs has failed in some catastrophic way within 2 years of taking ownership of the devices (one I bought used within a year of manufacture and it failed in a year and a half, so it might have lasted ore than 2 years, but not by much). Every other manufacturer I've bought a laptop from the laptop has lasted as long as I cared to own the device (with the exception of an Acer laptop in the early 2000s which failed under warranty and was quickly replaced). Maybe I just end up with the less durable models, but I'm not willing to keep trying after 4.

I would like to say that, having purchased a 3rd party warranty through Asurion (not related to Asus!), the upcharge for a Full Coverage Warranty is about 10% of the initial product price. Meaning that if Asus produces were merely 10% more expensive, you could get a full coverage warranty. It begs the question of why they are trying so hard to grift for in-warranty normal repairs. Are they actively trying to *ahem* "generate profit" by charging for miscellaneous unrelated items? Are they not doing so well financially? Are they trying to recoup money on trash products? Are all these repairs eating into their bottom line such that they are going to be losing investor confidence? Or have they become a truly evil megacorp that has utterly lost their way? Because none of the potential interpretations from a company that is purportedly so profitable end with any kind of judgment in their favor. They can afford to honor warranties and seem to be working very hard to get out of it.

hahaha and I even slightly considered doing a 7800x3d high end build using ASUS parts. Was giving benefit of the doubt after all that came to light a year ago.... I've been using Maximus boards for my Intel builds for the past decade. Seeing that Asus is still just going downhill and gaslighting.... Honestly, I'll probably never buy ASUS again. Consistently blowing smoke up the customers ass and then never making changes.

So, the last Asus board I bought failed about a year after I bought it. It shut down during a Win10 update and would no longer post. It was not detecting RAM in any slot of any kind. Asus would not cover it, but I expected this. I bought an extended Allstate warrantee thru Newegg with the original purchase. I made a claim and collected the full purchase amount. I replaced it with a different brand. So, it's an increased cost, but at least I didn't throw money away. I am done with Asus. I am done with Intel and nVidia as well. Non related, the last AMD processor I had that failed was quickly covered on an RMA. Kudos to AMD.

Had an Asus ROG Z390H motherboard that just died almost a year after purchasing a few years back. Sent it in on warranty with the CPU socket cover and a photo to prove there was no damage, and they quoted me more than the cost of the motherboard due to damaged cpu pins which I knew weren't there before I shipped it.

Definately still a great videocard... i have the Zotac Mini 1080(8gb/256bit) non Ti model, purchased brand new for $500 back in late 2017 during the black friday sales. Almost didnt a hold of one at the time when all the data miners were buying up all the videocards. No RMA or issues for almost 7yrs, had to recently give it a thorough cleaning taking it all apart and replacing the thermal solution with arctic silver ceramique2. Works perfectly fine for 1080p gaming to this day, DOOM2016 is the most demanding title i've got and havent bought any PC game since.

I guess ASUS is falling, just like every other tech company. ASUS used to be my go-to, after I had a mid-tier ASUS laptop for several years, which sat *powered on* on the floor, during a sewage back-up flooding event in my appartment. Where it sat, gargling sewage, while downloading updates for my games, for *hours* before I came back from work, too see the flooding... Sent it in through insurance, just to be safe. They replaced the keyboard *just to be safe* , as everything else worked just fine. That laptop lived on for a few more years, even after the charging cable had to be soldered directly to the MB, because the port broke off... I finally replaced it, after I broke the screen. It was getting outdated, so I upgraded to a new mid-tier ASUS laptop. This was 8+ years ago, and that replacement laptop is still operational... I occasionally fire it up to check, and it has never failed to this day. It appears to me, ASUS have gone away from making bullet-proof, tough products. Now they just pretend, with their "TUF" branding... The only thing "tough" about them, is the end-user experience having to deal with their customer service... I *spit* on the people who decided to ruin one of the extremely few reliable brands in tech. I won't recommend ASUS to *anyone* , until they get their shit together.

Now as a customer you realistically only have 2 options: pay up the 200 dollars for repair, or pay 200 dollars to talk to a lawyer and never mind the thousands if not hundred of thousand dollars to pursue legal action. This is why ACTUAL competition is so important, all companies are shaking hands and intentionally doing bad equally to cut their own costs.
